What is BoriLocalTours?
Bori Local Tours is a locally owned tour company based in Puerto Rico, offering small-group sustainable experiences and adventures focused on history, nature, culture, and authentic local storytelling. The company was created by a Luis Peña Crescioni, a local Puerto Rican engineer that worked for NASA. Luis later became a world travel blogguer, known as @backpackingLuis, and is now a certified local guide partnered with Puerto Rican @marianaob, an International Relations Analyst. Our local owned tour company specialize in sunset walks, local cuisine, and immersive cultural experiences that highlight heritage, responsible tourism, colonial landmarks, nature, hidden gems, local music, and everyday island life. Our goal is simple: help visitors travel like a local while truly understanding Puerto Rico beyond the typical tourist experience in the most eco-friendly and responsible way.

Founder
Luis Peña Crescioni is a former NASA engineer turned global travel storyteller who has explored 101+ countries as @Backpackingluis. Passionate about history and sustainable tourism, he encourages travelers to experience destinations in a more local and responsible way. A proud Old San Juan native, he knows Puerto Rico like the palm of his hand and is dedicated to sharing and protecting the culture he loves.

Co-Founder
Mariana OB holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and is co-founder of Bori Local Tours. She is passionate about sustainable tourism and building authentic travel experiences that reflect Puerto Rico’s history, culture, and community. Mariana is a polyglot and has traveled to more that 55+ countries. Through her leadership, she ensures every tour connects visitors to the island in a meaningful and responsible way.

Local Expert Guide
Pebbles Morales Pantoja holds a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Puerto Rico and works as a rehabilitation counselor, bringing a unique perspective to accessibility, education, and cultural interpretation. She also collaborates with the National Park Service, where she supports and leads tours specialized for visitors with special needs at historic sites such as Castillo San Cristóbal, helping make history and heritage accessible to everyone. She is passionate about Puerto Rico’s culture and history and loves helping visitors experience the island in a deeper, more meaningful, and accessible way.
Alexia I. Pérez Bosques
Local Expert Guide
Alexia I. Pérez Bosques holds a Bachelor’s degree in Experience Design: Tourism and Events from Universidad del Sagrado Corazón, with a minor in Audiovisual Production and Film. As a certified tour guide, Alexia leads walking tours in Old San Juan and excursions for cruise passengers, interpreting Puerto Rico’s cultural heritage for diverse groups. She has collaborated with organizations like the Pablo Casals Foundation and participated in professional exchanges in Spain, always striving to make history engaging through art. Inspired by a deep passion for Puerto Rico’s arts and culture, Alexia invites visitors to experience the island through its rich and living heritage.
